More than 30 years ago, when lipolytics were first used in medicine, the purpose of their application was not weight loss, but the treatment of cholesterol plaques on the eyelids. But, noticing their positive effect on the skin condition, cosmetologists began to actively use these drugs to get rid of local fat accumulations throughout the body. Since then, the methodology for their application has been slightly changed and improved, which allowed to achieve better results.

What are lipolytics?
Lipolytics are natural soy enzymes (PPC). These drugs are better known as the lecithin supplement found in certain foods. In the body, these substances are produced by the liver, which is involved in lipid metabolism and the breakdown of fat cells. For greater effectiveness, special components are added to lecithin that improve the condition of the skin.
Important! After entering the body, PPC breaks down exclusively damaged fat cells, and therefore another substance is added to lecithin – lipolytic deoxycholate, which destroys the walls of adipocytes and turns available fats into an emulsion.
The action of lipolytics
One of the main causes of obesity is the excess of lipid synthesis processes over their breakdown processes. In this case, excess fat remains in the body and accumulates in the subcutaneous fat, between muscle fibers, on the walls of blood vessels. It is with such deposits that lipolytics are struggling.
Directions of the drug:
- Processing excess fat into energy.
- Recovery of lipid metabolism.
- Regulation of metabolism.
- Normalization of blood circulation.
The main task of lipolytics is to turn excess fat into an emulsion, which is then excreted from the body.
How is the procedure?
The process of introducing lipolytics into the body is called lipolysis.
- History taking, preliminary conversation with the patient, initial measurement of volumes. The purpose of the stage is to find out as much information as possible about the state of human health, determine the presence of contraindications, explain the essence of the procedure and possible risks.
- Injection The drug is injected into the subcutaneous fat of the problem area to a depth of approximately 12 mm with a very thin disposable needle.
- Applying a soothing cream.
After the session, the patient is recommended to rest for about half an hour and drink more 500 ml of water, which stimulates the process of removing fat from the body.
It should be noted that these injections are rather unpleasant, and therefore it is necessary to be prepared for pain. If the patient insists on pain relief, it is recommended to apply anesthetic cream to the treated areas or add lidocaine to the syringe.
The procedure itself lasts from 15 to 20 minutes. Depending on the surface being machined and the desired result, 1-3 ampoules can be used in one session.
The spectrum of action
Lipolitics can get rid of excess fat in such areas of the body and face:
- chin area;
- joint area;
- back of the palms;
- external and internal sides of the hips;
The most commonly used lipolytics for the abdomen and second chin.
Contraindications for use
The use of lipolytics has a number of contraindications:
- poor blood clotting;
- allergy to the components of the drug;
- malignant tumors (even in the past);
- mental disorders;
- pregnancy and lactation;
- inflammatory processes in the proposed area of injection;
- chronic diseases;
- infectious and viral diseases;
Hiding from the beautician the presence of these diseases can lead to complications after the procedure.
Lipolysis and mesotherapy: what is the difference?
Lipolysis and mesotherapy are processes that are different in their effect, based on the same principle – injections.
1 table. The main differences between mesotherapy and lipolysis
|Puncture Depth, mm||6||От 10|
|Intended use||Skin rejuvenation, increasing elasticity and turgor, color leveling.||Elimination of local fat deposits and cellulite.|
In other words, mesotherapy is a technique whose main goal is to improve the general condition of the skin. A lipolytic procedure is aimed at combating cellulite and excess weight. Therefore, the depth of injection during lipolysis is on average equal to 12 mm – this is where fat deposits are. Mesotherapy, unlike lipolysis, is a more superficial procedure.
Modern cosmetology offers many lipolitics, differing among themselves in different composition and, accordingly, different effectiveness. Consider some lipolytics for weight loss.
Available in ampoules of 5 ml. Dermastabilon injections must be done to a depth of 1 cm, and the distance between the punctures must be at least 10 mm. The amount of lipolytic on 1 injection is 0,2 ml. The frequency of lipolysis is no more than 1 times for 8-10 days.
- sodium deoxycholate;
The drug is a water-helium slightly pink or colorless solution, which is available in ampoules of 8 ml. Due to its consistency, the lipolytic is precisely distributed in the subcutaneous tissue. For maximum effect, only 2-3 injections are required (one injection covers an area of up to 20 cm2) The drug is strictly forbidden to enter to a depth of more than 1,5 cm, as this is fraught with the appearance of microtrauma of muscles and other tissues. Aqualyx is often used to solve aesthetic problems in the face, namely the double chin.
Unlike other lipolytics, this drug is complex and incorporates mesotherapeutic components.
- arnica hood;
- amino acid complex;
- a nicotinic acid;
- vitamins and antioxidants.
Available in ampoules of 10 ml. The course of treatment consists of 5-6 procedures that are done at weekly intervals. To consolidate the results, it is recommended to repeat the 2 course once a year. After injections into problem areas of the body and face, a characteristic inflammatory process develops, which takes place a few days later. It is important to note that with the help of this drug not only lipolysis is carried out, but also mesotherapy.
MPX lipolytic complex
- extract of a dandelion;
Available in ampoules of 5 ml. Injections are recommended to be carried out at a distance of 2cm from each other, the penetration depth should be 1 cm. The maximum volume per procedure is 10 ml.
The process of introducing lipolytics is less traumatic, and therefore lipolysis is easily tolerated by patients. But immediately after the procedure, you may experience:
- subcutaneous nodes;
- slight hemorrhage;
Do not be afraid. Most of these manifestations are the norm and disappear in the first days after completion of the procedure. To accelerate skin regeneration, it is recommended to apply cool dressings.
As the reviews of patients and cosmetologists show, sometimes more serious complications can occur after injections:
- allergic reaction;
- hyperpigmentation in the treated areas;
- nausea, vomiting;
- subcutaneous tissue damage;
- skin necrosis;
- the development of the inflammatory process;
- increased body temperature;
- postinjection hemorrhages.
To prevent such complications, it is recommended to undergo a full examination of the body before the procedure, informing the beautician about all the diseases and features of your body.

Frequently asked Questions
How long is the rehabilitation period?
Depending on the area being treated and the amount of the drug, the rehabilitation period after the completion of the procedure lasts 2-3 days, during which it is forbidden to visit baths, saunas, hot baths, a solarium, and also to drink alcohol.
What is the maximum effect observed after lipolysis?
After completing the full course, you can lose about 6 cm in volume, eliminate stretch marks, get rid of cellulite, improve skin condition. But these indicators are individual and directly depend on the selected lipolytic and the individual characteristics of the body.
How painful is lipolysis?
The lipolytic procedure is rather painful. If the patient insists on pain relief, it is recommended to apply anesthetic cream to the treated areas or to add lidocaine directly to the syringe before starting the session. Some drugs already have anesthetics in their composition, making injections less painful.
Is it possible to use lipolytics for weight loss at home?
Some consumers recommend using lipolytics on their own, replacing the needle with a special mesoscooter (roller with a gentle needle surface). Small needles of the device make punctures through which the drug enters the skin. Reviews about the procedure are different: some see the effect, others talk about the futility of the procedure. But it is important to note that such sessions are fraught with infection, since they do not always occur in sterile rooms with the use of asepsis.
Will mesotherapy with lipoliptics be effective?
Mesotherapy and lipolysis have a different spectrum of action. There are special cocktails that can be used in these two procedures (Revital Celluform). But the key points of the procedure is the depth of drug administration: even the most powerful lipolytic injected to a depth of 6 mm, as with mesotherapy, will not be able to get rid of cellulite. And therefore, if the patient’s goal is to get rid of extra pounds – mesotherapy with lipolytics will not give the desired result.
Why is injectable lipolysis prohibited in France?
From April 12 to 2011 in France, a decree came into force according to which lipolysis, like mesotherapy, is prohibited. This is justified by the fact that such injections are not safe and in some patients after the procedure hematomas, skin necrosis, damage to subcutaneous tissues, ulcers, thrombosis were observed. Also, experts do not give an exact answer, where does the fat go and how is it excreted from the body. Hot debate is conducted about the main of the active components of lipolytics – phosphatidylcholine, or rather, how harmful or useful it is. Reviews of experts are different.
How to increase the effectiveness of the procedure?
To increase the efficiency and accelerate the manifestation of the results, it is recommended to combine lipolysis with procedures such as: LPG massage, thermolifting, pressotherapy or pneumomassage.
Lipolitics – injection drugs intended for lipolysis. The principle of their action is to destroy the membranes of fat cells and remove their contents from the body. After a course of lipolysis, you can get rid of cellulite, a second chin, stretch marks, improve the general condition of the skin. But this procedure is effective only if there is a small layer of fat. With large amounts of body fat, it is more advisable to do liposuction.
