Contouring is a fairly simple and highly effective cosmetic procedure, the purpose of which is to model new face shapes and reduce the pronounced signs of aging. Contour plastic preparations are made on the basis of synthetic biodegradable materials, the most popular of which is hyaluronic acid. This substance perfectly moisturizes the skin, promotes the active production of fibroblasts and collagen fibers, does not cause rejection.
Indications for use
Contouring with hyaluronic acid preparations has a wide range of direct indications. So, its implementation is recommended for:
- Reducing wrinkles and wrinkles of a facial or age-related nature.
- Prevention of ptosis of soft tissues of the face.
- Correction of the lips (shape or volume), the elimination of their asymmetry, to raise the corners.
- Changes in the shape of areas of the face (chin, cheekbones).
- Soft tissue replenishment with hollow cheeks.
Types of fillers, their differences and general properties
There are a lot of varieties of products for contour plastics based on hyaluronic acid. In order to get a more detailed idea of such cosmetic products, we will take a closer look at some of them.
For contour plastics, drugs such as: Juviderm Voluma, Juviderm Volbella, Juviderm Ultra Smile are used. They have a high viscosity, are used to fill in wrinkles, add volume to soft tissues. The last of these products is designed specifically for lip shape correction. The average period of effect from use from 14 to 16 months.
To eliminate wrinkles and the formation of new facial contours and volumes, products such as Surgiderm 24XP, Surgiderm 30, Surgiderm 30XP are used. The basis of their production is the “three-dimensional hyaluron matrix”, which ensures the duration of the preservation of results.
For production, biosynthetic HA is used; its creation is carried out using Q-med technology. For contouring, products are used under the label Restylane Lipp and Restylane Sub Q.
Fillers are a combination of hyaluronic acid and mannitol. Provide a pronounced and prolonged effect. For plastics, drugs such as Stylage M, Stylage L, Stylage XL with a concentration of HA from 20 mg / g are applicable.
The main requirement for preparations for contour plastics is increased viscosity and density. Their task is to fill in the voids and folds, and then remain long enough in the dermis to attract the maximum number of water molecules. Preparations for contour plastics of this kind are biodegradable and are not stored in the body; they completely decompose into ordinary water and carbon dioxide and are excreted through the lymph flow without additional load.
Contour plastic surgery by injection of hyaluronic acid does not require special preparation. At the same time, most cosmetologists agree that a number of auxiliary preliminary manipulations will not be superfluous. The main wish is to abandon blood-thinning products, because they can reduce the final result.
Contour plastic surgery takes from 40 minutes to 1.5 hours, the procedure is carried out in a cosmetology clinic, and is not performed at home. Before injections, the skin is mandatory inspected, cleaned and treated with an antiseptic to prevent inflammatory processes.
The second step is anesthesia. It is carried out by injection of lidocaine or application of anesthetic cream. Some fillers with hyaluronic acid already contain lidocaine, however, its level of effectiveness can be challenged.
The drug is administered in several stages. The injections are carried out in the problem area at a small distance from each other, then the treatment area lends itself to acupressure to distribute the filler.
The procedure does not require rehabilitation in the hospital, side effects are mild and last for 3 – 4 days, in 9 of 10 patients they are manifested in edema, bruising and increased sensitivity. If contraindications are not observed, injections can provoke allergic manifestations, itching, skin rashes. In approximately 1% of cases, patients have local fibrosis.
Symptomatic local therapy is recommended to prevent the development of complications. It is expressed in:
- cold compresses for edema;
- antiseptic treatments for inflammation;
- taking antihistamines for allergies;
- using bruise creams.
The period of recovery
The skin heals after the intervention within two weeks. At this time, the list of rules should be observed:
- Do not use saunas and baths.
- Do not sunbathe in the solarium or in the sun.
- Do not swim in the pool or in open water.
- Reduce physical activity.
- Refuse bad habits, foods, and blood thinners.

The composition is administered by injection into the dermis, the results are stored from 10 to 16 months.
