The appearance of the eyebrows determines the harmony of the features of the whole face, can change its proportions, set the mood for the image. Both experts and simply fashionistas who monitor their appearance agree with this statement. That is why eyebrow epilation is one of the most popular procedures in beauty salons. It can be carried out in several ways, each of which is characterized by individual indications and features.
Method One: Tweezers
Tweezers are corrected in 95 percent of cases. The main indication is the need to change the shape of the eyebrows. The procedure is carried out according to the following scheme:
- Defining the border of the eyebrows and the future shape, starting from the wishes of the patient and the features of his appearance.
- Applying oily creamsoftening the skin (this measure is not mandatory).
- Hair removal. It is carried out only along the lower boundary. Sensations in the process can be quite painful, subsequently irritation and redness appear on the treated area.
- Minimizing side effects. Carries out due to the cooling gel used after the procedure. If inflammations occur after 2 – 3 days after using tweezers, it is recommended to treat them with a solution of boric acid in a weak concentration.
Tweezers correction does not cause significant complications, has no contraindications and is distinguished by budget cost, in the presence of experience and skills it is carried out at home. The result of the procedure is stored for 3 weeks, then a second visit to the specialist is required.
Method Two: Waxing
Eyebrow waxing is suitable for giving them the correct shape, as well as in the presence of short hairs that cannot be caught with tweezers. The procedure is not performed on a regular basis, because through 4 – 6 times it can lead to permanent hair removal.
This hair removal takes about 20 minutes, carried out with warm or hot wax. It is heated to the required temperature and applied to the hairs, then fixed with a small piece of tissue, wait time for solidification and tear off the strip.
Contraindications are: oncology, diabetes mellitus, inflammatory processes, pregnancy, viral diseases. After the procedure, redness of the skin and slight swelling may be observed. The resulting effect persists for a month.
Method Three: Laser Hair Removal
A modern method of eyebrow epilation that helps to get rid of excess hair for up to 7 years. It is carried out exclusively in professional cosmetology clinics. Indications for it – the need to change the density of the eyebrows, the need for a radical correction of their shape for a long time (for example, when they grow together).
The laser beam affects dark hair with a pigment called melanin, which absorbs light radiation. It heats the hair shaft to about 80 degrees, thereby destroying its structure up to the bulb. With light and thin hair, it is recommended to choose a neodymium type of laser. It acts not on the pigment, but on the vessels that feed the base of the hair, sealing them with high temperature. Without nutrition, the hairs quickly die and fall out.
Laser eyebrow hair removal is not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding, with diabetes, oncology, flu, and elevated body temperature. Among the contraindications to it, inflammatory processes on the skin, moles, and individual intolerance to light radiation are noted.
In nine out of ten people, laser hair removal is accompanied by swelling, redness and temporary soreness. With incorrect settings, the procedure provokes burns. To achieve the desired results, correction must be carried out with a course of 3 – 5 procedures with a break of up to 2 months.
